- Alston contributed three of the club’s eight hits Sunday morning, going 3-for-4 with an RBI single to score Jade Smith in the bottom of the fifth plus scoring once.
- Smith has found her niche as a pinch-hit specialist and speedy baserunner, logging another base knock off the bench before scoring.
- Kayla Sanchez and Naomi Drake joined Alston by driving in one run each, while Sydney Wesley and Laeni Terrones logged hits as well.
- Two Devilettes reached base via walk or hit-by-pitch as Keisha White got on via the former (also stealing a base) and Jaylon Davis earning a trip to first for the latter.
Coach Buckner’s squad will spend next weekend in Jackson, Mississippi for the Capital City Classic with two games apiece coming against Tennessee-Martin and Southern during non-conference action.
