
JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University baseball program was feeling confident heading into the bottom of the sixth as they came off a four-run inning to extend the lead to 5-0, but JSU scored the final six runs unanswered to stun MVSU, 6-5.

- Starter Hunter Stallings kept up his team leading strikeout pace, fanning six-plus batters for the fourth straight appearance with five solid innings of two-run work.
- Antonio Walker was the deliverer of the club’s only extra-base hit as he stroked a double and scored twice, getting on two other times via bean ball.
- Jose Salazar-Ortega’s lone single drove in a pair of Devils, Maury Weaver stole two bases and knocked home a run, Davon Mims had a 2-for-4 evening, Narvin Booker walked and tallied a run batted in.
- Dreylin Holmes’ hit/on-base streak counter has run to eight and 19, respectively, singling back up the box on a full count pitch in the top of the first to tack on another day.
One more contest at Braddy Field awaits on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Valley State looking to stop its skid.
