Benefits and FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are membership dues pro-rated?
    • Membership dues are not prorated. Membership contributions are calculated and totaled from Jan 1 thru Dec. 31 each year (V Club fiscal year). However, those contributions cover the upcoming academic/athletic year. (Example: Contributions made on 6/23/2021 are counted as 2021 contributions (for fiscal year accounting). Those contributions will cover the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 academic/athletic calendar (Sept 2021 thru May 2022).

  • What happens if I join on July 1 and only have a partial contribution?
    • Contributions can be made in installments. We only request that your contribution commitment total is completed prior to the first home football game (typically in September of each year).

  • If I am already a Life Member of MVSU National Alumni Association, what happens to the portion allocated for MVSUNAA? Can I receive a pro-rated package?
    • The V Club allows the MVSUNAA Board to make decisions regarding funds earmarked for MVSUNAA annual memberships within the V Club. V Club and MVSUNAA share the goal of growing both affiliated organizations.

  • Is all or only a portion of the contribution tax-deductible?
    • MVSU V Club is classified as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by the standards of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Therefore, contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If you have questions regarding the tax deductibility of a contribution, consult a tax professional.

  • If we have a couples membership, will both of our names be listed on benefits and annual reports?
    • Both names will be listed on benefits and annual reports. (ie. Jesse and Lois Austin)
