
JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University baseball program got a multi-homer showing from Dreylin Holmes once again but could not slow down the Jackson State offense in a 21-7 defeat over seven innings.

Mississippi Valley State Top Performers
- Dreylin Holmes registered his third multiple home run performance of the past two weeks, extending his on-base streak to a whopping 20 straight while moving hitting string to nine consecutive. On the day he went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a pair of runs scored for his fifth outing of both three hits or four-plus runs batted in.
- Jose Salazar-Ortega also clubbed three hits as well over four at-bats with an RBI plus scoring once, his first three-hit performance of his brief six-game hitting career as he has hit .667 (8-for-12) with five RBIs, three runs, a walk and a double this season.
- Davon Mims contributed his team-leading eighth multi-hit showing of the campaign, notching two hits, two runs scored, a walk and the team’s lone stolen base.
The Delta Devils return to the friendly confines of Magnolia Field on Thursday for a three-game series with the Alabama State Hornets, game one scheduled for 3 p.m.
