Mississippi Valley State Top Performers

  • Davis might have to look into an NIL deal with Wendy’s because she had her own version of a 4-for-4 meal, notching a pair of hits in each contest including the team’s only extra-base hit of the day (a double) while stealing a base as well.
  • Alston saw her long hitting streak come to an end in game two but not before she got the feat to double-figures as she went two-for-three with an RBI, a walk, and a run scored to see the string reach a team-long ten straight matchups with a hit come to an end.
  • Wesley also notched a 2-for-3 outing with a run scored in the opener, minus the run batted in and walk but included a steal while Keisha White and Shelby Carson also drove in a run apiece plus garnering the other two hits outside of Davis in the nightcap.
  • Daisy Page was her usual effective self on the mound on top of holding her own at the plate, where she reached base three times via single, hit-by-pitch, and base on balls. As for in the circle, she tossed another complete game with four punchouts, two earned runs allowed and a single walk to give herself a winning record for the season at 6-5.
  • A’tajua Wren still pitched well in defeat, recording 19 outs in the ballgame while surrendering just two runs and one walk before Morgan Gutierrez came on for the final two hitters, fanning one.

The ladies from The Delta can move to within a half-game of second place by taking the finale and the series during game three Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. start scheduled to take place immediately following the conclusion of the spring football game.
