Patrick Austin joined the XFL (a fan-first, fast-paced global professional football league with innovative rules and an enhanced 360-degree game experience. The XFL is owned by Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital Partners and launched in February 2023.) as a Director of Team Operations. Patrick left behind his alma mater, Mississippi Valley State University where he worked as the Director Corporate Partnerships and Executive Director/Founder of the MVSU V Club (MVSU’s Athletic Foundation – Patrick has continued his work with the V Club). Patrick worked directly with the Director of Athletics, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and President to plan, implement and complete annual/capital project fundraising campaigns and cultivate major athletic donor prospects for approved athletic projects.
Prior to his return to Valley, Patrick served as an Operations Consultant for the Minnesota Vikings, reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, Kevin Warren. Patrick played a functional role in all operational aspects of stadium management (game day and foundation functions), pivotal roles in training camp (first year at Vikings new headquarters in Eagan, MN – Viking Lakes), Minnesota High School Athletics and Activities Association partnership (hosting high school football games at Vikings Lakes) and exploratory research of mixed-use developments (visiting The Star (Frisco, TX), Titletown (Green Bay, WI), Patriot Place (Foxborough, MA).
Before receiving the opportunity to work at the professional level, Patrick worked at Mississippi State University as the Director of Recruiting Communications and Recruiting Coordinator on the Football Coaching Staff. At Mississippi State Patrick acted as the primary communicator and message curator for all football recruiting matters. With a strong focus on getting prospects and families to campus, getting mentioned prospects committed, getting mentioned prospects signed to Mississippi State, while eliminating personnel surprises for the head coach. Patrick excelled in his position at Mississippi State, playing an intracule role in signing the number two (2) ranked junior college recruiting class in the nation for 2017.
Patrick Austin started his career in athletics at his alma mater Callaway High School. Serving as the Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Back Coach. His defenses has a list of accomplishments. Notability allowing zero 100 yard passing games during the 2008 season; 2 1⁄2 to 1 interception to passing touchdown ratio for the 2008 season; ranking 2nd in Mississippi 5-A in sacks and interceptions for the 2009 season; ranking 3rd in Mississippi 5-A points allowed for the 2010 season.
Patrick returned to Callaway after leaving Germantown High School where he served as the Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs Coach and Head Boys and Girls Track Coach. His first year back at Callaway, Austin lead the Chargers to a 3rd seed playoff berth in region 3-5A. Austin brings a passionate desire of helping our student-athletes achieve their dreams.
After graduating from Mississippi Valley State University, Patrick gained valuable work experience as a Logistics Area Manager for Walmart, Assistant General Manager for Powerhouse Gym and Admissions Counselor / Recruiter for Tougaloo College.
Patrick Austin has been around football and athletics since the age of 7, playing in Pop Warner leagues in Southern California. Patrick graduated from Callaway High School in Jackson, MS. As a Three Year Letterman in football and track, Patrick was considered one of Mississippi’s Top 40 Football Prospects (Clarion Ledger) his senior year. After high school he was given the opportunity to play at Pasadena City College. PCC finished ranked # 3 in the Nation at the end of his sophomore season. Patrick Austin transferred to Mississippi Valley State University where he played for SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) Legend Willie “Satellite” Totten. Patrick later received his Master’s Degree from Jackson State University.
Patrick Austin is married to Siedah Austin from Greenville, MS. They have three daughters Presley Grace Austin, Parker Faith Austin and Priyah Hope Austin.
