Jerry Porter is currently self-employed as a contractor and Senior Financial Analyst in Jackson, MS. He is a former Revenue Agent with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and retired as a IRS Criminal Investigation Special Agent. Jerry serves on the Board(s) of the Treasury Employees Federal Credit Union and NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement). Jerry is a member of the Association for the Improvement of Minorities (AIM-IRS) and a church Trustee and Financial Secretary Jerry is known as an avid supporter of Mississippi Valley State University, Special Olympics of Mississippi, Greenwood Mentoring Group and Greenwood Community Center.

 

Jerry Porter has been recognized multiple times professionally and personally by the IRS, United States Attorney’s Office, City of Jackson, Federal Bureau of Investigation, East Percy Street Christian Church, Organized Crime & Drug Enforcement Task Force, IRS International Narcotics Law Enforcement Officers Association, Mississippi Soccer Association and more. He has completed multiple public speaking engagements and professional training presentations on criminal financial investigations. Jerry was also the Lead Case Agent on several high profiled criminal cases in Mississippi covering multiple federal violations.

 

Jerry is proud to be a member of the MVSU V Club. He has been extremely influential to the MVSU V Club during the inaugural efforts to strengthen the academic and athletic activities at Mississippi Valley State University today and into the future. Jerry is an honor graduate of Mississippi Valley State University (1982) and Greenwood High School. Jerry is a proud parent, grandparent, grandson of the late Virginia Stanley and son of the late Gloria J. Robinson.
