Page Earns Long Overdue SWAC Pitcher Of The Week Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State University softball program has now had three players honored as SWAC Hitter/Pitcher of the Week in 2022 as Daisy Page joins A’tajua Wren and Naomi Drake among the Devilettes to be recognized by the conference this season.

Page, a senior from Anchorage, Alaska, has become one of the best pitchers in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with a 1.18 ERA and a 6-1 record over the past month-and-a-quarter since March 3.

The six-foot hurler continued her reign of dominance last weekend against the two-time defending SWAC Champions (Alabama State), posting two complete game victories over 14.0 innings of work with seven strikeouts and only two earned runs plus one walk allowed. Her performance resulted in a miniscule 1.00 ERA and a paltry .226 batting average against.

Page and the ladies have a long journey ahead of them as they head nearly 750 miles away via bus to Daytona Beach, Florida for an Easter series at Bethune-Cookman.
