Mississippi Valley State Top Performers
- Despite wearing the unfortunate loss, starter Hunter Stallings pitched exceptionally well with five strong one-run frames plus a season-high seven strikeouts.
- A day following his first career collegiate hit, Jose Salazar-Ortega notched his first multi-hit performance, going 2-for-3 as the only Devil with more than one base knock. The freshman from Kissimmee, Florida also made his debut on the rubber, pitching an inning-and-a-third with three of his four outs coming via punchout.
- Dreylin Holmes smacked his fourth double of the campaign for the club’s lone extra-base hit, Angel Perez contributed a single and Chris Soeder drew a walk.
- Davon Mims and Narvin Booker were active on the bases as each stole a bag.
MVSU will have a great chance to rebound with a mid-week doubleheader against Tougaloo College on Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m. for Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day.
