- Demi Slater hit a home run for the first time in over three years to kick off her final collegiate game, crunching a three-run bomb to center, tying her career-best RBI total in the process plus notching a walk during game one.
- Jaylon Davis also homered on her final day as a Devilette, barreling a solo shot over the fence for the team’s only run in the opener. For the day she collected three hits in seven tries (.429), scored and drove in a run in both matchups, and ending her tenure on a 16-game on-base streak.
- Shelby Carson went 2-for-3 (.667) with a pair of doubles in the only appearance of the afternoon, MyKaila Fleming had a single, and seniors Brianna Alston plus Kayla Sanchez went out with a hit apiece.
Notes
- These two teams have been evenly matched against one another over the past seven seasons with Valley and A&M (11-11) splitting its last 22 meetings with the run differential just as close as AAMU is now +4 over that span (113-109).
Head Coach Jimmy Buckner ends his first season in charge with 11 victories, the most-ever by a first-year coach of the program and the club’s first double-digit win season since 2018.
